GOALS -- 1997-1998
Goal Statement: Develop Competent High School Graduates
- Develop Literate Students
- Achievement of proficiency levels in reading, writing,
communication, mathematics, and science that meet district
content standards
- Allocation of resources directed toward instructional and
professionaldevelopment in the areas of language arts,
mathematics, and science
- Emphasis on literacy skill development throughout the
curriculum
- Emphasis on English language development for speakers of
other languages
- Prepare Students for the School-to-Career/College Transition
- Development of individualized career/academic plans
- Participation in business, community, and college
experiences
- Development of course work to integrate academic and career
concepts and demonstrate relationships between academics and
professional life
- Emphasis on increasing graduation rate and reducing
dropouts
- Increase School Readiness
- Emphasis on preschool parent educational training and

- Expansion of student enrollment and curriculum

- Dissemination of district ECE Continuum to both public and
