Department of Educational Technology
Mission and Goals

The mission of the Department of Educational Technology is to provide service, technology, staff development, and training to district school personnel who will in turn enable the children and youth of the Denver Public Schools to acquire knowledge, skills, and values to become literate and competent citizens.

Goals of the Department of Educational Technology

1. Achieve significant productivity improvements utilizing technology in district schools.
2. Establish and maintain a well-trained computer literate staff at all levels.
3. Increase school self-sufficiency in regards to technology.
4. Implement teacher training strategies that utilize technology to support the literacy effort of the district and to positively impact student achievement.
5. Implement a business planning methodology.
6. Improve communication among educators in regard to instructional technology.
7. Place more instructional technology in the hands of students to impact literacy and student achievement.
8. Support administrative and instructional use of technology in the schools.
9. Utilize distance learning district-wide.

Evaluate technological developments to keep the district in the forefront of modern technology.
